Welcome to the Volvo's biggest Brand Experience Center. Conceived as a car museum, the space takes visitors on a journey through the complete manufacturing process, revealing the passion and precision behind every Volvo car.
Through a crafted space design and interactive installations, we aimed to create an experience that goes beyond traditional exhibitions and gives a deep, hands-on understanding of the brand.
Opened in Chengdu in June 2019, the center provides an opportunity for visitors to engage with Volvo’s heritage, technology, and craftsmanship.
The visitor’s journey was carefully planned around the 1,500 square meters floor of their building in Chengdu. Each part of the journey was given a chapter, to showcase different aspects of Volvo’s story.
As the Experiential Creative Director, I led the creative direction, design, and development of the immersive, interactive experiences of this integrated journey.
The experience began with a heritage showcase, followed by showcases on chassis, powertrain, luxury finishes, green technology, and safety. Carefully chosen materials and lighting created a balance of modern design, technology, and Swedish comfort.
Interactive features like motion recognition, touchscreens, AR, and mapping projections, immersed visitors, making it easy to explore and learn about the brand.
The Chengdu brand experience centre became a truly unique space among Volvo’s showrooms around the globe.
Garnering great results from visitor numbers, it is now considered one of the main venues for the brand in China.
